The VHLC addresses a broad range of humane living practices, including but not limited to ani-mal protection. The foundation of the focus is humane education. The VHLC promotes in-formed dialog, community engagement, and lifestyle choices that respect people, animals, and the environment.
A foundation of humane living and education is central to achieving many of the social change goals that many of us share, the general topics that make up the focus for humane living in-clude:
sustainable living practices
ethical consumerism
mindfulness in education
restorative justice and peaceful conflict resolution
as well as issues in companion animal manage-ment
