"Where do you get your protein?" "Humans are designed to eat meat." "You can't get all your nutrients from plants alone." "You have to make sure you combine foods to get a complete protein."
We've all heard these and other questions and myths when you tell someone you're vegetarian. Have you ever wondered what to say in response? Or thought, maybe they were right after all? Come hear some of the most common myths about a vegetarian diet and then listen to what the science actually says about it.
Jen Fournelle, a vegetarian for over 15 years and fully plant-based for almost 3 years, has worked in the health and fitness world for 7 years. A certified personal trainer, bootcamp instructor and most recently a kickboxing instructor, she has coached clients in fitness for many years. Several years ago Jen became a health coach with Get Waisted, a nationwide plant-based weight loss program. Jen started Get Waisted Richmond, as a way to reach those looking for better health through diet and encouraging people to adopt or get closer to a plant-based lifestyle. Jen lives in Chesterfield with her husband and 4-year old son, whose favorite food is tofu!
